hi, I'm Neena, and I make…
I'm a maker in Toronto. I've been blind since the day I was born, so I've never seen the world — I've always felt it, smelled it, and heard it. Everything I make is judged by my hands, and my hands are very picky. If a piece doesn't feel right, it doesn't leave my table.

A "noticeable" is the thing most people rush past — and I can't explain noticing to you. I have to hand it to you. Every box is a little tour of the world the way I experience it.
soap cut and judged by hand — made for yours
beeswax and essential oils — blended for your nose
a chocolate I picked myself, for while the candle burns
the strike of the match, the first crackle
the candle's glow. I've never seen one — that part of the gift is yours.
I make one box and I make it perfectly. The match for your ears. My hand-rolled beeswax candle for your nose. The glow for your eyes. A soap and scrubbie for your hands, a chocolate for your tongue, and my story card so you know whose evening you're borrowing.

Neena's Noticeables were such a welcomed addition to our event. They gave our guests a way to extend their experience and find balance — a beautifully handcrafted gift to each participant, from Neena.

Dear friend,
I was born too early and too small, and the incubator that saved my life took my sight. So I've never seen the world. I've spent my whole life noticing it instead — the weight of a good bar of soap, the way lavender smells different in the morning, the little sound a match makes when it catches.
I put my noticeables in these boxes because I want you to feel what I feel every time someone thinks of me: noticed. You've been thought of — by me — even if nobody else thought of you that day.

"you got this box, so you borrowed my evening.
and now you're noticed — by me."
Tucked into every box is a small card telling how these things get made — by feel, by scent, by a woman who has never needed to see something to make it beautiful.
